A program in cooperation with the Stoneham Recreation Department

Monday, August 5 - August 9, 2024
  
Come have fun with the “Video Explorers” program where you will learn to use digital video cameras, microphones and other equipment at Stoneham TV. You will produce TV shows that will be shown on Stoneham’s public access channel!
 
This program will not only build your creative and technical skills but reinforce teamwork because producing TV shows takes the collaborative effort of a group. We will also share our community spirit of our hometown, Stoneham. Additionally, we will learn to appreciate the importance of the First Amendment to the Bill of Rights, Freedom of Speech.
 
This workshop will be offered Monday, August 5, 2024 through Friday, August 9, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Stoneham TV located at 53 Central Street, Stoneham, Massachusetts. Amy Palmerino, Executive Director of Stoneham TV and Paola Camargo, Program and Training Coordinator of Stoneham TV will provide instruction. 

On the final day of the workshop on Friday, August 9 at 11:30 AM a video presentation will be shown to the families of the students that will feature their creativity from the week.  
 
*students are asked to bring a snack and a drink each day

Location:  Stoneham TV, 53 Central Street, Stoneham, MA
Project Recording locations:  Stoneham TV Studio and on the Town Common across from Stoneham Town Hall
Ages:  9 years old to 13 years old
Capacity:  The program is limited to 12 students
Cost:  $140.00 (Resident) $150 (Non-Resident)

Mon, August 5: Orientation, Overview of Studio Production, Expert Interviews
Tues, August 6: Portable Microphones & Lighting, plus Video Scavenger Hunt
Wed, August 7: Portable Camera Instruction –Reporting and News Stories
Thurs, August 8: Final Skit Preparation and Production
Fri, August 9:  Stoneham TV Public Service Announcements & 11:30 AM        Video Presentation w/ Families
